Last weekend, I went to New York with my boyfriend. We had awesome adventures and I took a ton of photos, so I’m going to make three posts about the trip (one per day we were in New York). I’ve also done this because I wanted to schedule some posts while I’ll be on the dreaded family vacation of doom at Disney World until Saturday. -_-
Ceddy and I arrived at LaGuardia on Friday morning around 9AM. We took the MTA bus into the city, then took the subway uptown.
First, we stopped at the Nespresso café on 5th Avenue. We sampled the caramel espresso, while Ceddy shopped for other flavors.
Then we walked a few blocks.
I ordered some Uniqlo jeans online, but wanted to get the free alterations done, as is standard with Uniqlo pants. Ceddy and I decided to go to the flagship Uniqlo store on 5th Avenue. Luckily, they were able to alter both pairs, even if I didn’t have my receipt!
My cousin Michelle met up with us, so she could accompany us to my cousin Anne-dee’s place, which is by Central Park and Lincoln Center.
After hanging out at Anne-dee’s place, Ceddy met up with his friends in Brooklyn. Michelle and I went to The Smith for lunch and cocktails (I already posted a photo of the Manhattan that I ordered).
Michelle and I walked around the upper west side before going back to Uniqlo to pick up my altered pants.
We took the subway into midtown and walked around some more.
We had dinner at Manon in the meatpacking district. It was a swanky place with great cocktails and “new American” cuisine.
After dinner, Ceddy went back to Brooklyn and the rest of us walked part of the Highline and to Hudson River Park.
It was an awesome way to spend a Friday, especially since the heatwave broke and we had excellent weather for exploring the city.
Tomorrow’s post will feature our adventures in Brooklyn and the East Village!
