After work last Tuesday, I flew to Orlando for the family trip to Disney World. I was (mostly) dreading it because extended time spent (really, any time spent) with my parents is always stressful. Still, I was looking forward to spending time with my siblings. We stayed at the Disney Wilderness Lodge, which is a nice hotel with a log cabin motif.
On Wednesday, we did brunch at the Lodge, then took a boat to Magic Kingdom.
It was hot as hell that day (and for most of the trip).
Two of my favorite people — my siblings.
One of Brie’s favorite rides.
The Aladdin section of Magic Kingdom.
Later, Raf and I went to Hollywood Studios.
After dinner with the family, I met up with my friend Michele! We hadn’t seen each other in three years, when we worked together at a crazy nonprofit. It was awesome to catch up while sipping delicious cocktails at the hotel bar.
On Thursday and Friday, Raf and I went back to Hollywood Studios and also went to Epcot.
By Saturday, everyone was ready to go home. After a long car ride back and dinner in Alpharetta, I made it back to Atlanta. I was happy to have sibling bonding time with Brie and Raf, but relieved to be back home. Next time, we’ll just have to plan a siblings trip, instead.
